This is the first appearance in book form of Thomas's famous poem that warns "Do not go gentle into that good night" and to "Rage, rage against the dying of the light." This copy is the first trade edition of which only 5000 copies were printed. The often lacking and/or typically tattered dust jacket is present with this copy and in remarkable condition. We have placed the jacket into a mylar cover for protection, but this may be easily removed if you wish. The tipped-in photo of Thomas remains on the title page and in excellent shape. This book has clearly been cared for over the years. The jacket is lightly age-toned, has two very tiny chips, and the spine portion is darkened from exposure to dust. The boards underneath are like new. The interior is also like new save a former owner's name written on the front pastedown (obscured by jacket flap) and an instance of underlining on the Contents page. This copy is better than the average copy one will find, and we are happy to offer our clients the opportunity to own this "instant classic" work of poetry.
