This is a very handsome book in limited edition. The format is quite large, and among the best attributes are the fine laid paper and the numerous facsimiles of silk and related documents. The book is essentially a history of silk-making in France beginning in the 15th century. A very large and impressive book. Quite rare. The condition is very nice and clean with no markings or staining other than the small call numbers on the bottom of the title page. A very fine Paris imprint. Despite the heavy text-block, the binding is well constructed and sound, and the book itself appears to have been rarely, if ever, read.
