Rare women's book, published periodically around the mid 1850s, containing various essays, poems, music compositions and stories. The only copy of this 1851 edition currently for sale worldwide. Book condition Fair only. Cloth binding over boards lacking backstrip though boards still holding. Contains 23 (of 24) illustrations (half of them hand-colored), lacking the frontis and front blank only. All text intact and complete. Foxing to varying degrees throughout. Great copy for reading and/or just for the engraved plates.

A wonderful illustrated book, mostly containing poetry about America and ideals such as liberty, among others. Large book, nice thick paper, illustrated throughout including several full page illustrations. Very Good condition with only a surface cloth tear along front hinge of binding, and some rubbing to cloth at extremities. Internally, only a few instaces of light foxing.
