This is an excellent book by poet Clemente Bondi. This is the 1st edition, printed in Parma by this well-known and celebrated Italian press. The poem is illustrated with an engraved title-page and three engraved vignettes at the opening of each Canto. The paper quality is outstanding, and the overall quality of the printing is a wonder in itself.
The condition is equally outstanding! The text is Near Fine. The paper is very clean, crisp and fresh without toning, and only a few (3 or 4) pages show any fault at all which are very minor in nature and not even noticeable at a glance. The book is well-bound with a gold silk marker, top edge gilt, and the bottom and fore-edge of the pages remain uncut. The binding is modern 1/2 dark brown calf over light brown calf (So, actually full calf) in an ornate period style. Title and designs in gilt on the spine, and double fillet lines in gilt on the boards.
Overall, this is a beautiful book containing a beautiful poem and engravings, and it is a fine example of superior 18th century printing from Dalla Stamperia Reale.
