This is a great set of books covering the lives of various British and Irish figures (see full title for examples). The bindings are period straight-grain morocco over marbled boards. Some light chipping in places as would be expected. Marbled end-papers in all volumes -- does not seem to match exactly the marbled papers on the boards. All bindings are tight and square, the hinges are very strong. There is little evidence of usage for this set overall. Internally, the pages are very clean with little to no foxing. This is a very clean set, well-preserved, showing signs of less than average use. Very Good overall.
