This is one of the more interesting reads one can find. Henri Mission, a Frenchman, writes of his observations during his time in England. The work was translated into English by Mr. Ozell. His descriptions of England provide a window into English culture around the turn of the 17th century. His comments are informative while laced with wit and with some portions obviously tailored to a French audience. This is a scarce work rarely seen on the market.
The condition of the book is Very Good. Period dark-brown sheep, rebacked with gilt in period style. Internally, there are two former owner signatures and a 18th century former owner bookplate on the front pastedown. Lower margin of title trimmed, light age-tone. A Very Good copy overall, clean, nicely bound and tightly constructed.
