This very rare English edition is nearly impossible to find outside of a handful of libraries such as the British and Swedish national libraries. This book, originally written in French in 1556, appears to have been translated into English only once, and we find no other printings beyond this one. It is a very scarce account of the war carried on by Beatoun and Stuart (along with the French) against the English under Somerset.
The condition is Very Good. The binding is very tight with strong hinges, little rubbing, and the original cambridge panel calf binding is in beautiful condition. The gilt title on spine has some loss. The binding has been archivally restored and buffed to a shine to ensure the condition remains excellent for many decades to come. Internally, only moderate age-toning is found. A very nice copy.
