This is a rare limited edition, number 171 of 1,000, of this classic work on architecture and scuplture. This work is an invaluable resource for art historians and enthusiasts. This is an exact facsimile of the 1778 Venice edition. These facsimiles are typically only found in libraries who require a copy but cannot afford (or locate) an original. The present copy is extensively indexed, is a thick quarto in size, and is printed on fine paper. Bound in original wraps, the book is in wonderful condition with only a pleasant age tone to the pages. The outer covers are Very Good or better as well. This is the first edition to be published by Edizioni Labor of Milan which was founded in 1934 to reproduce and document rare works. This is another book which is particularly difficult to locate on the retail market with only one other being currently offered for sale worldwide.
