This is a very rare art book containing Cartari's classic on iconography. The book contains an exact facsimile of the 1647 edition, complete with frontis, tavola, text and of course the many woodcut illustrations that make this work an invaluable resource. This copy is in excellent condition, inside and out. The printing and paper quality is outstanding. The jacket has only some light fraying to some edges and remnants of an old book seller's sticker on the rear inner flap. The boards are a faux cream colored leather. The text block is tight and square. The only mentionable flaws are the former owner's signature on the front fly leaf and the University stamp on the top page ends and very lightly on the front page ends. Otherwise, the book is essentially like new.
